Aris Athanasopoulos

Aris AthanasopoulosI was born in Elliot Lake, Ontario and grew up in Mississauga. I was first introduced to theatre in grade ten, eleven and twelve drama class and then went on to study at York University’s acting conservatory.

At York, I partook in such productions and readings as: Grapes of Wrath (Connie Rivers), Laius (King Laius), As You Like It (Oliver) – dir. by Mirek Polatynski Comedy of Vanity (Henry Breeze, Eugene Kauldan, Ana Barrass) – dir. by Ines Buchli, 12 Ophelias (Hamlet) – Mirek Polatynski; The Merry Wives of Windsor (Slender/Host of the Garter Inn) – dir. by Mirek Polatynski and Unity (Stan/Michael).

I participated in the Toronto SummerWorks Festival of 2007 playing Chase in an acclaimed production of Finer Noble Gases (Factory Theatre). He also worked with the Classical Theatre Project at Hart House Theatre and the Enwave Theatre in productions of Romeo and Juliet (Benvolio) dir. by Charles Roy, A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Lysander) dir. by Charles Roy, and Hamlet (Guildenstern) dir. by Charles Roy.
